The President’s PhD Scholarship covers the full cost of study for up to 3.5 years:

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this prestigious award, you must meet high academic standards:

  • Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities.
  • Education: You must have a First-Class UK Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or international equivalent).
  • Distinction: If you hold a standalone Master’s degree, you must have achieved a Distinction.
  • Supervisor Support: You must have already contacted a supervisor at Imperial College London who has agreed to supervise your research.
  • Status: You must be a new PhD student (current Imperial PhD students are not eligible).

How to Apply

There is no separate application form for the scholarship, but you must follow these steps carefully:

  1. Contact a supervisor at Imperial College London and get their confirmation to support your research.
  2. Apply for admission to a PhD program via the College’s Online Admissions System.
  3. In the "Funding" section of the application, select the President's PhD Scholarship.
  4. Submit a personal statement:

    • Page 1: Personal interest and motivation (write in the first person).
    • Page 2: Your Research Proposal.

  5. Ensure you meet any specific additional requirements of your chosen department.
