Applications are now open for the 12th Youth Leadership Workshop on Global Citizenship Education (GCED) 2026 in South Korea. This fully funded international program is designed for young leaders who are actively engaged in community development, education, and global citizenship initiatives.

The workshop is structured in two phases. Selected participants will first join an online session in May 2026, followed by an in-person workshop in Seoul, South Korea in June 2026. The program aims to equip youth with practical skills and knowledge to promote peace, sustainability, and global cooperation.

Program Overview

The Youth Leadership Workshop is organized by the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) and the GCED Youth Network.

Each year, the program brings together approximately 40 young leaders from eligible countries. Participants will engage in interactive learning, discussions, and collaborative projects that focus on real-world challenges.

The theme for the 2026 edition is: โ€œTranslating Peace into Action: Leveraging Media and the Arts for Youth Advocacy.โ€
